Lived in Missouri for 38 years before moving to Texas, including 4 years as a LEO, and open carry is legal in the state. You would see folks open carrying in the country if they were target practicing or hunting, but almost NEVER in town. This was partially due to the fact that a city ordinance could override the state laws and prohibit carry. You could actually accidentally drive into a town and get out to fill your car up with gas and be arrested for openly carrying a weapon. However, the main reason was if you walk into Wal Mart with it on you, you had a 98% chance someone was going to call the police on you unless you looked like an off-duty officer. Even then, you were supposed to display a badge by your gun if carrying open off duty.Pete92FS wrote:Louisiana and Georgia have open carry but I haven't noticed any open cary in either places; I keep concealed. Maybe I'm like the previous poster and just don't go to the right places.
