From their web site I notice that their electronic muffs have a non-electronic rating of anywhere from
NRR 20 to NRR 33. The electronics don't help if the muffs cannot keep the sound levels to below harmful levels.
And at $200+ (on their web site) they are not much of a bargain considering that a HF pair at $20,
over foam plugs, gives equal or better protection.

But as Kevin noted, stereo is an advantage for hunting. MidwayUsa is now offering the old Caldwell model in
stereo for much less than the Pro Ears price.

Bottom line, shop around folks and check those NRR ratings as they are just about all you need to know
about hearing protection in regards to these electronic muffs.

I don't know about Cabela's but I just checked MidwayUSA and found the
Caldwell Stereo muffs on sale for $24.99 until the end of August.

I seen those and was wondering if was close to the ones that had been talked about her. I am think about getting a pair. For 25.00 it would be worth a gamble.

Yup, that is the HF way. I scan through the weekly catalogs and check out the sale items. At times the same
item can be found in the same catalog for three different prices. Just pick the price you want to pay and use
that code when ordering online.

At $9.99 these are a great bargain even if only used for static muffs.

CTD had those cheap ones for $29.95 at their store.
I think I want to get some of the good stereo muffs.
Anyone know who has the best online deal on them?

Also, I have never found a pair of in-the-ear-canal plugs that were comfortable. My ear canals are very different in shape left-to-right, and they are also sensitive to chafing. Are there any variations that might suit me better - something that conforms better than the foam things yet would still be comfortable?

I don't have any of these yet, but am thinking pretty hard about getting a pair. I haven't seen one complaint about them anywhere on the internet.

Midway has them, but the above link is the cheapest I've found.

I plan on using the el cheapo yellow foams under a pair of Peltor 6s tacticals behind the necks. That should cover me for long shooting sessions.

I can hear folks just fine through the yellow plugs to begin with(as long as they aren't facing away from me). That points out two things to me - both that I'll still be able to hear folks well enough with the Peltor's on, and that just the yellow plugs aren't enough on their own.

Ordered the $24.99 set of Caldwell Stereo Muffs and tried them out last night. I thought they worked great. DW and I were shooting in doors and we both thought for the price they were great.

Ordered the $24.99 set of Caldwell Stereo Muffs and tried them out last night. I thought they worked great. DW and I were shooting in doors and we both thought for the price they were great.

I got 2 pair in yesterday and will let student's try them today, I also ordered two pair from Harbor Freight so I can compare.

Does anyone have the part number for the HF at the sale price?
The 2nd half of the SKU# indicates the price.
