I took it from Clear Creek gun range in League City. My instructors name was Al Trug. I had heard some negative things about Al in the past, however he was an amazing instructor. He was really helpful and humble. Never made us look stupid and encouraged "dumb" questions.
The class was some what boring yet there were only 3 of us in the class, so it was more hands on. He gave plenty of breaks and even bought us breakfast and lunch! I learned plenty, not only about CHL but laws regarding force and deadly force. I scored a 100% on the written exam and 193/200 on the shooting (it was 21 degrees with an 11 degree wind chill).
Some guy had a stroke in the parking lot, so we stopped class to help and call 911. Life Flight had to come in and fly him to Herman Memorial (hope the poor guy is okay). Anyway, I think the state of Texas should consider requiring some type of class that teach the laws to gun owners. After learning what I did today, I'd say that most Texans that own a gun do not know the real home defense laws.
All in all the class was successful and I am excited! I plan on overnighting my packet on Monday!

I once was shooting at the Bullet Trap, when the outside temps were in the low 40's. With the ventilation blowing COLD air down my back, my hands were numb and shaking LONG before I wanted to quit. I sure wouldn't want to try to qualify in an 11 degree wind chill -- buuurrrrrrr.
Interesting -- We were GIVEN our targets, after being scored by the instructors. (Not done at the BT). Same here. In fact, after the proficiency test, we were given our targets and were told to take them back to class(the range was about 10 miles from the classroom).
