I agree, except that it is relatively easy to make it perfectly legal and not worry about having to break the law to protect yourself by getting a CHL. So highlight the last part

It took a couple of instances to happen directly to my wife and I together before she would consider a CHL. She is a school teacher and now carries everywhere except at school. I'm just thankful that it didn't take any more than uncomfortable feelings to make her see the light, not injury or a funeral.

Try to get her to apply for CHL. Then you won't have to wonder.

I spent Sunday afternoon at the range with my wife and son, and one of our friends. 2 years ago, getting my wife to go to the range was like pulling teeth. She took her CHL class from Crossfire-Training almost exactly a year ago (1/24). I ditto the previous post praising their classes. They are very good with women students, particularly women who are not as familiar with firearms as other folks.

Also, Crossfire-Training offers the NRA Basic Handgun Safety Course, which my wife also took before taking her CHL class. It was taught by Crossfire's husband, Marty, and he gave the students lots of opportunity to handle many different kinds of pistols in a safe environment. Then they repaired to the range where my wife had the opportunity to shoot everything from a .22 to a .41 magnum.

The Annoyed Woman now owns both a S&W 642 revolver (my valentine's day present to her a couple of years ago), and a Glock 19 she bought on her own initiative the day after she took her CHL class. Although she prefers shooting the Glock (who wouldn't), she primarily carries the 642 because it fits better in her carry purse, and we haven't worked out a good way for her to carry the Glock yet. I have my opinions having to do with making certain fashion adjustments...
