I found that while going through the process that the ATF people do not have a sense of humor, keep it all business. I believe they would deny your application if you tell them you will just be doing transfers as they may not consider that as being activly engaged in the business. One of the questions we were asked during the interview process was where we would be buying our products, so be sure to do some research on that topic. Be prepared for some frustration, they make DPS look like a cake walk......

Regarding selling of ammo, I can say first hand that unless you are going to buy massive quantities it is not worth it, our distributors have very little available unless your looking for rifle or shotgun ammo and when they get it the prices are no bargin. I buy it cheaper at Walmart than I can buy it wholesale for, my ammo stock is soley for the convienence of our customers, especially those who buy 380's, so I will sell them some at what I paid at Walmart. Sure would hate to sell a gun to somebody then wish them luck finding ammo for it. The ammo manufacturers may sell direct if you are willing to buy a few pallet loads, then again be aware of the local laws, I do not believe the fire department would be very happy finding out the hard way. When we received the local LE signoff we told them we would not be stocking and selling quantities of ammo, which we do not.
