I've never been able to open both eyes with an Eotech or an Aimpoint. On both when I try to I wind up seeing double. Having said that I really prefer the Eotech. I currently have three and everyone one works like a champ!

Thanks for all the responses. I've scrapped the Reflex RX01 idea, checked it out again today at Spring Guns and Ammo and was severely disappointed now that I knew what to look for. I pointed the dot right at a series of light panels and I couldn't even see the reticle! This would be a great sight for nighttime, but that's not what I'm looking to buy, especially not for my first optic.

They did, however, (besides having a great shop) have a Trijicon RMR, which I was very impressed with. Low profile on top and, after playing around with it in my hand for a few minutes, was quite easy to use. The height of the display concerns me only slightly, I'll still have to take a second look at it another time to confirm my sentiments, but I was impressed. It does take batteries but that's not an issue to me. It's a red dot and I can see it in the bright light so we're golden, or red. Let's just say I'm excited.

A fellow officer buddy of mine at a neighboring pd is selling a like new Trijicon TX30 for around $400. Pretty good deal if you're interested. It may be the answer to what you didn't like about the reflex.

Thanks, but I'll have to decline. Not quite ready to buy yet. :tiphat:
