Almost all of my practice is done alone.

I often have other folks with me (I shoot on my own property), but I am usually busy making certain they are having a good time... or helping someone that needs instruction.

Consequently, I end up shooting by myself another time. No big deal.

I usually shoot alone.

I normally shoot with family. If not the wife, its with my sons, daughter, nephews, nieces, grandkids, or one of the brother-in-laws or father-in-law. I can't think of a single time that I've gone shooting alone.....I wouldn't mind going alone......thinking about it some more, someone always wants to go. I know the boys enjoy going because they shoot MY bullets.

I prefer to practice alone, less distractions, don't have to worry about what others are doing, and if I shoot like crap there are less witnesses If I am not practicing, just plinking, I like to take others. We have two family ranches that are perfect for weekend trips with a truckload of guns and ammo. My friends and family like to make a game of shooting; whether it be .22s with iron sights, clay pigeons, or coke cans at 300 yards with the varmit rigs. Sometimes those competitions can get pretty hairy and cost a load of quarters, yet another reason I practice alone....it keeps 'em guessing

I shoot with others, but train either alone or with a highly trusted buddy who is also experienced and serious.

I work shifts, so as a practical matter whenever I go to the range, I have the place to myself. My wife and kids all enjoy shooting, but none are advanced shooters, so whenever we have a family range day, I'm too busy hovering and instructing to take much time to shoot.

Most of my shooting time is alone, although I do occasionally have the better half join me. I've also introduced some friends and coworkers to the sport. I'd say that most of my 'with others' time is during competition... IDPA, USPSA.

I practice with two others. Both are competition buddies, one is my husband. We push and pull each other causing us to improve our skills. We coach each other helping to catch bad practices before they become ingrained habits.

I enjoy practicing alone on occasionally. This allows me to work on different techniques or improve current techniques.

It is nice to have company but being able to train and work on moving and pulling from a holster and shooting from cover is more enjoyable and productive. When someone is shooting with me they seem to want to talk more than shoot. I guess if I went to a actual range it might be different since most won't allow a person to do much more than shoot holes in paper.

I muchly prefer to shoot alone; that is me or my wife and me.
Once I have come to know some regular folks on the firing line its not so bad.

But otherwise, more people equals more folks I need to pay attention to.... and become darn sure they are paying attention back. And that generally works out and all but..

It's nice when its just you, your firearms, and your target.

If you shoot at an indoor range, you HAVE to shoot alone. At $15 an hour at Red's there's no time to talk or watch your buddy shoot. At Eagle Peak I've literally got all day to talk and watch my wife shoot.

I find that I don't get as much shooting done when I have 'company' at the range.

I try to go by myself, however, it is fun to have my daughter and freinds along every so often.

I typically go to the range alone. I usually keep my shooting to about an hour or less - don't think that I would much enjoy shooting by myself for as many as 4 hours.

I enjoy going to the range with friends and family, but I also love going by myself. As others have said, it's my "alone" time, and I usually get more out of it from focusing on my shots and improving my aim.

Also, there's something very Zen about stripping and meticulously cleaning your pistols afterwards. :-)
