Huh?

There were no links to the original article, so I haven't seen it. Based on the original post here, nothing was mentioned about the place being posted. And it appeared they believed that just because they sold alcoholic drinks, all carry was forbidden. It just seemed a little weird that they would attempt to 30.06 post if they believed all carry there was illegal anyway.
I still don't understand what you're getting at. If you want to read the entire article,but the paper-the shortened version is here: http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/ ... Comments=y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The issue here is not that they have or are attempting to post their business with a 30.06-it's the public in-printed attitude of the business owner that she "Doesn't want them there"
I intent to show here what she's losing by way of monetary value. Unless we all stand together and show these business owners that they are mistaken in the ideals that our business isn't worth considering, we're going to get nowhere.

Ok -- Now that I've seen the "sign" (I guess), I'll note that it isn't even the TABC required "Unlicensed possession" sign. Essentially a "gun busters" sign without the image.
I understand your concern. Good luck convincing her of anything. I'll also note that she may not be losing ANY money from CHL business, as I believe most CHL'ers would carry right past that sign, and she'd never know. Also, watch out that any undue attention to this matter may bring the sign issue to her attention, causing her to post a valid 30.06 sign.

If she does post,then there will be more that'll care and voice their concerns about the issues instead of ignoring it because "it doesn't effect them".

Starbucks publicly said last week it will allow handguns in its stores if local or state law allow it.
Texas concealed carry handgun law has several exceptions. Any business can ban handguns by posting a note at its entrance. Also, in general, no weapons are permitted where alcohol is served nor in schools or churches.
How many totally incorrect claims can you spot? I count 3. It shows to go you how little effort these "journalists" verify their claims. Not good journalism by any means. The unfortunate thing is that uninformed readers accept what the newspaper says is fact.
At least they DID run a poll, which is running right at 84% in favor of allowing handguns in its stores.

Wait...everything we see and hear on the TV and papers is not true? Are you saying that reporters are biased? News stories arent always fully researched and full of facts? What I see on TV is not an accurate account of real life?

good catch. I did not read the article that well. I also count three in that tiny section. What ever happened to doing research before you write something?

Too much work. Fact-checking in journalism has gone the way of the dodo. These days if journalists can't pull it off the AP wire or find it with a quick google search (only looking at the first result of course), it doesn't get published.
