The Manager at the Holiday Inn said that if we have at least 10 people that we can get a group rate bringing the price down to $79.99 for the group rate. The normal rate is $119.00

I've left messages for the manager to call me back so that we can get that group rate and get issued a code which I will post when we get it.

Is the $89 price good if we don't get the group rate? Or does it bounce all the way to $119?

I hope the group rate (if we get it) will work for any class date. If so 79.00 is a very good deal for this Hotel. Count me in

Well I didn't know if I was going to be able to get 10 people to get the group rate so I negotiated with them on an individual level and was able to talk them down to 89.99 so I already booked it at that rate but if there are enough of us and they do give us the group rate I am going to see if I can get a refund for the difference.

I think I will try to talk to someone at the corporate office and see if they will make a long standing group rate that can be used on other classes as well.

That sounds great! How many people do we have so far? I'm one for July 19th.

How did you talk them down to 90$?

You should always be able to cancel your res and rebook at the lower rate.

I believe there is a Best Western nearby. If anyone is not planning to stay at the St. Michael's and might stay at Best Western, I have a leftover BW gift card from a trip last summer. It has a $48.50 balance remaining. I'll put it in the mail to you for $40.00 paid via Pay Pal.

I just talked to Leslie at HDI Express and she said they do not have a 89.00 rate. I emailed inertiajason to see if she had a confirmation number, the manager was sassy about the whole thing. We will see what happens

I tried emailing inertiajason and did not get a reply, so I will either book at 119.00 or look elsewhere

I got booked at the Holiday inn express through 1800hotels for 74 a night, the next best price was 98 night and the regular price was 118. Of course the cancellation policy is more stringent, anything after 72hrs and you lose it all, before that and its 20%

However, my Hotel does not have a Hot tub, so let me know if your hotel has a good one .

Bill -- what class are you going to? Anybody else staying there?

Can't wait... :anamatedbanana

The ratings were uniformly bad-- people described getting chased by resident crackheads and drunks, no hot water, roaches, high crime and a host of other problems. While I would like to stay with all the other instructors, I just don't feel that's it's worth putting up with all of that.
