My first gun was a Steven's single shot .22 I got when I was 7 or 8. It was left in one of my grandfather's rental properties by a tenant that moved and he gave it to me. I still have it, I got it refinished and reblued a few years back and it is still a tack driver. My first pistol was a Colt Govt .380 MK IV Series 80 in stainless, my dad bought it for me when I was 15, I still have it but it doesn't see that much action because of the cost of .380 these days.

My first gun was a S&W 64-5 that I bought from a pawn shop on East Grand here in Dallas. I was a good, easily led, moderate with liberal tendencies. The City Council of my fair hamlet of Dallas decided that the police were too busy to respond to commercial alarms without a witness being present. I live around the corner from a stone's throw from the bar. The alarm company calls me when it goes off. My thought was, "just a smile, or a grimace with a gun?" Common sense prevailed, bought the gun, realized that I needed to know how to use it. Was reminded of my Boy Scout days with the .22 rifles. Dang, I like to shoot these things. My inner Texan came flying out with a vengeance. This was November of '06. Have since sold that Model 64 to a couple nice old dudes with a table over to the Big Town Gun Show. Can't begin to fathom where it might be today. Should have framed it, as it led me to where I sit today. A shooter who tries like the dickens to get other people interested in shooting, or at least more familiar with shooting, so's the fear of the Evil Gun fades into the background. Happy shooting, boardmates, must sleep now.

My first gun was (or rather still is) a Mossberg 500. It is still around, loaded, and ready to repel boarders.

My first (or maybe that should be OUR) first handgun was (and still is) a Glock 19. It is my wive's primary carry weapon.

Now these guns are all less than a year old too :) They have several others for company now too. :)

and I thought one wife was enough.

My first as a kid was a Crossman BB gun, but I do not recall the model. The first regular firearm was shooting my Dad's Sears Roebuck .22 lever. The first one I bought was at 21 while in the service, and it was a Beretta 92F. I got it mainly to practice between Quals for Security Police training once we moved off the .38s. We were one of the last bases to convert.

Not counting a couple of BB guns, my first real gun was a Springfield .410 bolt action I got for Christmas at about 9 years old. I was about as bad as Ralphie in 'A Christmas Story' making sure everyone knew I wanted that shotgun so I could go rabbit and squirrel hunting!! I was so excited Christmas morning knowing I was gonna get it that I overlooked it sitting in the corner by the tree and thought I hadn't gotten it. Dad had to point it out to me.

Next came a .22 bolt action rifle by Remington. From there I can't name all of them, but those definitely stick out as my first ones. I still have them and they will hopefully be passed down to my grandkids one day. Hopefully that is a quite a few years from now as my Daughter is only 17.

Can't even begin to count the number of squirrels that little sweetheart has put on the table.

When I was 5, my dad gave me a single shot .410 that he had to saw the stock off a little to fit me. I traded that one off for....who knows what... a few years later.

My first was a "hand-me-down" Benjamin pump single shot BB rifle from my 10 year older than I am bro. Let's see I must have been about 5-6ish. The front sight had been knocked off so I learned the "shoot where you look" and Kentucky Windage method out of necessity from early on. It wasn't long before a bird, rat, mouse, bee, butterfly was dead meat for me. We lived on 7 acres in the edge of town with hills and woods behind us. After school I never went out of the house without it. I will say that after a while, a miss was unusual...not braggin but I shot that thing 1,000's upon 1,000's of times. As a result, it made me a pretty good shot with a rifle or shotgun for as long as I could see good. Still not too bad for an old man I reckon. My work is outside on a ranch and I never go out without at least a rifle and one or more pistols with me. I still have it 58 years later and it still shoots...Life is good!

Edited to add... Needless to say, after the first one...I was thereafter disqualified from any BB gun wars among the neighborhood boys.

First gun bought was a Ruger Single-Six (.22), purchased from my flight instructor, probably in 1969. He couldn't find the Magnum cylinder, and I've never replaced it. Still have the revolver, which still makes occasional trips to the range with me.

My first gun was a Remington BDL Fieldmaster. I think that 572 is the model number, but I would have to double check to be sure. I can't even venture to guess how many rounds have gone through it, and I have never had a malfunction. The coolest thing about this rifle is that it could shoot 22 short, long and long rifle. As a poor 10-year old, I could buy a bunch of the cheapest .22 short ammo on the market and go out and shoot all afternoon. (I shoveled horse stalls for a local rancher and got paid .25 per stall, so I really had to stretch my shooting dollars!) Then I could load the long rifle when I meant business!
That rifle is in my gun rack now. It doesn't see much action anymore, but I can never see myself getting rid of it. Way too many good memories.

My first gun was and is a Savage 24 series .22/.410 over/under. It was my Dad's first gun and first gun he ever shot and now its my first gun and my first gun I ever shot. Right now it is hanging on my wall with the other rifles. It shoots true and is a beautiful gun with a very nice cherry finish.

The first gun I ever bought was my Browning A-Bolt Medallion chambered in 270, NIB. It has a Simmons Master Series Aetec 4x14x44 scope on it and is a great shootin gun. A friend of mine sold it to me for..well lets just say a bit under MSRP...as a homecoming gift from Iraq. He is a Vietnam vet who lost his right arm in the war. Great guy! Right now it is on my wall with the other rifles.

My first pistol is my XD .45. Right now its on my night stand.

And last but certainly not least my first 1911 is my SA Mil-Spec. I have done a little bit of work to this as it now has...Ed Brown Videki National Match Trigger, Ed Brown Tactical Extended Thumb Safety, Ed Brown Mainspring Housing Flat with Drop-In Maxi-Well 1911 Government/Commander Snakeskin Stainless Steel, Ed Brown Match Grade Commander-Style, Lightweight Hardcore Hammer 1911 Stainless Steel, Ed Brown Beavertail Grip Safety with Memory Groove 1911 Series 70/ 80 Stainless Steel and VZ Diamond Backs Tiger Stripe G10 grips. Right now its on my hip!

The first gun I bought was a Remington 870 in 12 gauge in about 1980 or 1981. It is still in the garage and gets used when someone needs a shotgun for dove hunting or shooting clays. Of course, I used Dad's Ithaca Featherweight in 12 gauge (and full choke barrel!) before that. I guess the full choke made us better shots for pheasant. Also, it was a pleasure to carry because of the weight.

The first pistol I bought was a S & W 642 for the wife. I bought a PT145 and still carry it. She didn't like the 642, so it was traded in for her own PT145. Now she carries a (my) LCP. At least she carries!

Nothing special, 1986 llama IIIa .380 that my dad gave me a few years ago. I love the thing. Its a joy to shoot and super accurate - which from what I've read is a bit unusual. I still have the original box and hand-written reciept from when he bought it.
