BTW, I don't blame you. I own a Model 29, and it is maybe my favorite pistol. But it the last thing I'd want in a gunfight, and I have frankly no interest in owning or shooting something in .500 S&W. Like you said, anything I need to kill badly enough to use something like that can be killed better with a rifle round from a safe standoff.

Thanks. I remembered .44, but it's been many years since the Executioner books went in a garage sale.

I remember seeing the occasional Wildey in a gun store when they were in "production." Gun shops usually were asking above MSRP, so they tended not to sell very well.

I also heard that, like the AutoMag that preceeded them, they weren't terribly reliable and were prone to breakage.

Well it wound up selling for $1,201. It must not have to much collectors appeal, or it is of recent manufacture. I know nothing about the gun.
