I put my range bag next to the lane wall, so I got a decent number of them landing on/in the bag, but I only recovered a third of what I shot. I thought it would be a bit tacky to bring a 5-gal bucket and set it next to me.

The range I started using recently provides a bucket to sit next to you. Not a 5-gal, but it works....

You know. I did. Let's see...... The one I have is not made anymore, but here are a few hits off of a Google search:
http://www.sherwoodakuna.com/brasscatcher.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - looks pretty cool in that it clips to the gun not the hand.
http://www.amazon.com/Graco-Models-Pist ... B002SBBCJC" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Very similar to the one I use.
http://www.gracomodels.com/catcher.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Same as the Amazon?
Best wishes!

Hello Everybody. I'm new to the forum and just happened to hit on this topic, which is one that is dear to my heart. I reload my own in several calibers using a Dillon 550B for pistol cartridges and an RCBS single stage press for rifle cartridges. I not only pickup brass at the range, but I also pick up spent lead. As expensive as ammo is, I try to save when and where I can. I bought a sieve at Cabela's for the purpose of screening out the lead from the backstop material. I say "sieve". Cabela's called it a "Wok". It is square and about two inches deep with a lot of 5/16" diameter holes in it. Cabela's has their reality, and I have mine.
If nobody is shooting on the pistol range when I'm done shooting, I do a little lead mining.

I am lucky in that the range I use you can pick up all the brass you want. I used to even go on days I was not shooting just to pick up brass before it opened. As mentioned before if it’s someone else’s brass just ask if they reload or if you can have their brass when they are DONE. I watched a guy burn threw 500+ round of 223 as fast as he could fire (his friend was loading mags for him) when he was done I ask, he said sure and I went to picking.
