I was crawling around in my front yard the other day planting the flowers my wife asked me to plant and at one point stood up and noticed that at some point my T-shirt had ridden up and my P226 was in Full View. Wonder how long it had been that way?
Good to know I didn't break any laws though....

(That's what I do when working in the yard or on the outside of the house.)
Because the topic is "Oc in my yard".
Well, then the answer is that you may have some 'splanin to do if the neighborhood kids have a conniption. If you're worried about that, CC is the answer.

A Short Story...

I was prepping my garage door frames for painting over the weekend. I was working on the overhead part of the frame, trying to remove the old calking, when I hear a meek "Excuse me, sir." from behind me. I turn around to find a guy standing just off my property, in the corner of the neighbor's yard. My first thought was that he had been hiding behind their fence. Anyway, he says he's just there to read the gas meter. I tell him to go ahead -- and as he approaches the meter, says, "I didn't want to scare you." He reads the meter and leaves in a hurry.

I can't help but wonder if he was so polite because he may have seen my IWB carry when I had both my arms over my head.

Anyway, I CC while working and figure if anybody sees it and complains, I can truthfully claim that I intended for it to be concealed, and they only saw it because the work I was doing exposed it. I was obviously NOT trying to alarm anybody.

We coughed and choked for about two days.

Lesson learned.
I went through certification with OC spray in the State Guard (we had to take a full hit in the face & still complete a series of tasks...)

I decided that I'd much rather eat chili than wear it.

After Ike I open carried on my property in full view of every cop who came by during the 2 week cleanup, they just waved. I open carry at home all the time when working outside and I have a liberal neighbor who hates guns

For me, OC is better when sweating, the gun doesn't get wet and I'm more comfy.

In my neighborhood there are kids and grown-ups constantly walking on the sidewalk in front of my yard; I've been doing a lot of yard work lately, so I've found myself greeting a lot of neighbors as they passed by. I'm guessing that eventually one is going to freak over my OC, especially when some child says, "Mommy, Mr. Embalmo has a gun." and when it gets reported, its, "That crazy Embalmo guy is waving a gun around at my kid." Then it's going to just be a lovely scene when the cruisers show up and some idiot rookie LEO panics over my open carry. I always assume when I see OP with plain clothes it's a high ranking cop and I've always assumed that others would too; but when kids start tattling, I fear for my life.

You could just use a sling on your SHOTGUN and then you'll be fine. ;-) Bet the dog poop count drops off in your yard as well :txflag:

People don't want to mess with: "That crazy Embalmo guy." :reddevil

Maybe you could take him out to the range....might have a good time :evil2:

He'll be the first one to knock on your door for sanctuary when the zombies come out :fire
