That's another gap in the law. All that is required is that the sign "is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public." 30.06(c)(3)(B)(iii)

Placing it on the main entrance would appear to fulfill that requirement. There is no requirement that ALL entrances be posted. In fact, there is no requirement that the sign be at the entrance at all.

Therefore, it would be up to your lawyer to argue that you didn't have effective notice because you entered thru a non-posted entrance.

I have researched and just follow what I was told in my CHL Class and the Att Gen Office. If the place doesn't have a 30-06 sign that meets the Standards set by the State of Texas then ignore it and go on.

I usually try to stay at motels that have a safe in the room ...
I don't like to leave anything in a car in a motel parking lot.

Obviously my knee-jerk reaction to this is that if a hotel anywhere in Texas wants to post its property to restrict our carrying in that facility...

Thats just a losing business plan if you ask me... :thumbs2:
