$980 plus tax.... :rules:
first time useing the CHL on a gun purchase...that was cool..

Sounds like an excellent deal with the laser to boot. I bought my last 2 guns with my CHL and it feels great. It's like the velvet rope being parted while the other schlubs have to wait in line. Congrats! :thumbs2:

It looks like pocket carry is a definite option for that piece of artwork.

range Report: Went to the indoor gun range we have here.Awesome gun.Shot 412 rounds through it and not one single malfunction.
This was my first time shooting with a laser and wow thats cool.Shot with it off to.Did a few double taps.I like it....Ammo i tryed below.
The 12 were from my two box's of the good stuff...6 each just to make sure it liked the HP stuff OK.Also tryed out the stock magazine,
3 of the Kim Pro tac mags and 3 of the Wilson combat 8 round mags from a long 1911 i have.Zero issues and shoots great,
the kick is less then the LCP .380 which is hard to believe. Not hard on ya at all.
oh look how cheap that old box of ammo was i bought in 3/99....Ha!

A super tuck will work, but if your looking at the crossbreed web page they also make a mini tuck for it as well... If that is the only 1911 you own and plan to ever own get the mini tuck, otherwise go for the super tuck. I carry my 3.5" barrel 1911 with my super tuck as well as my 4" and 5" guns depending on which 1911 I choose to carry.

Mine feels best just behind the point of the hip, I have never tried carrying in the middle of the back. Just for the record I too have the love handles and my super tuck is extremely comfortable.

Congrats!! :cheers2:

I have the same weapon. Got it in December last year, and has been 100% reliable. I have about 1000 rounds through it, and have had no failures at all! I am going to send my slide to Kimber for night sights soon. The laser is cool, but I do not like the black sights on them. I cant see them in low light conditions.

I also carry mine in a SuperTuck, but I carry mine at 4:00 so can not speak to the whole behind the back thing. I never liked carrying that way.

I would go ahead and get the super tuck rather than the mini. I can use mine for any size 1911 3", 4" and full size 5".

Understand that with those 400 rounds you are over halfway to changing your recoil spring. I shot a Kimber Compact for a few years, thinking the spring replacement interval was like a full sized gun. One cracked slide later, after talking to Kimber about a replacement, I fully understood that 700 rounds was the replacement interval for a good reason.

After that, when I was shooting my ProCarry on regular basis, I changed recoil springs religiously.

I know your gun is a 3.5" and mine are 4" but the same principle applies. Short barreled, high slide velocity 1911s need strong springs.

OK...i did not know that. The owners manual said "For proper break in shoot 400 to 500 rounds,230 gr FMJ, cleaning every 100 to 150 "
So thats what i was doing i guess breaking it in.The barrels is a lot more shinney inside.
How hard is it to take the double recoil spring apart if you get new springs?

The laser warning almost has me in tears. If the laser is shining in your eyes, "laser radiation" is the LEAST of your health concerns.... "rlol"

Very nice gun.

Congrats on the new pistola - I've had one since last October and love it.
ChuckW wrote:Very nice! I am sure that you will enjoy it.

I couldn't help noticing in your disassembly picture that you used the wire like takedown tool provided with the gun for disassembly. In case you weren't aware I thought that I would mention this guy's Ultra tool - http://www.1911ultratool.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

His device perfectly alines the the slide stop with the disassembly notch making field stripping a breeze, something that the Kimber tool doesn't do. I have a Kimber Ultra CDP and can testify that the thing really works. FYI - I have no connection with the guy who makes these.
Thanks for the link :tiphat: - I watched the video and am definitly going to order one of these tools. That little hex key that came with the gun is a real pain.

I agree with the sights - I am going to have mine changed out also. Too hard for me to align in low light.

Oh, oh...there is a thread on that very subject that you might want to peruse. Just saying.
