Thanks doc. I enjoy this everyday and I have made a lot of smoke with it. I am not the best shot in the world but all the work that was done has not only made it more aesthetically pleasing but the performance is outstanding. I never tried it at 25 yards prior to the work, mainly due to it being a mil-spec, but after the work I can hit COM at 25 yds without a problem.

You got that right. The 1911 is a very beautiful weapon both in looks and functionality.

Although, doc's Colt Cobra puts up a tough fight. That thing is magnificent!

Wow. Nice. The SS is starting to grow on me but i still want to chase the parkarized finish first.

Looks like you are on a overseas assignment.

I've looked at the milspec and like it. My dealer likes the loaded for $150 more with the improved trigger.

What are you hearing about the Sig 1911 line. I'm hearing a lot of positive things about it. I have a P238 and really like it.

Thanks,

Danny

Doesn't really matter.

If the Loaded is only $150 more than a Mil-Spec now I would get the loaded no questions asked. Not only is the trigger improved but so are the sights, beavertail, mainspring housing, hammer, and fit.

I have heard good things about the Sig 1911. I do not know anyone personally that owns though. I would go with the Loaded over the Sig. That is just my personal opinion. I have a Springer and love it. They have a lifetime warranty and their customer service is truly top notch.

As for me being overseas, this is the LAST TIME!!! 28 more days left until I go on terminal leave!!!

Thanx for your service and happy shooting with a beautiful piece.

Thanks RECIT :tiphat: I really appreciate it.

Every time I take her to the range it is happy shooting. I am very pleased with the way this gun turned out. Especially since it is my first 1911 and when I got it was completely ignorant on the entire platform.

Below is a pic of my very first shot with her after completion.

While I am not particularly a fan of the 1911 platform, I do appreciate a nice piece of work. It is obvious that alot of thought, effort and hard work went into the design of your pistol. Awesome job. It is 1911's like that that make me want to acquire a desire for one.

Thank you! A lot of thought did go into it. I got a lot of help when I was researching parts from forum members.

Have you ever shot a 1911?
