In my experience (for what it's worth), this is true.

Chas. is correct. The Hex Sight is simply a modified Ghost Ring. In a range situation, it may help some folks concentrate on their front sight. In a combat situation, your front sight is all you see ... if you are fortunate enough to have the time to see it at all.
The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.

:iagree: not been in a combat situation but just when im out shooting pigs or whatever, you dont ever see the rear sight much. Its kind of instinctive shooting.

I'm glad to see people trying to improve handgun sighting, even if I'm not certain much has really improved since Patridge, or possibly the low light inserts on same. I'd like to try this setup, but not on my dime.

The aperture has to be pretty big to see much through at arm's length. And then you still have to find the front sight.

LIke Charles, I thought of the various aperture sights for pistols.

Then I thought about the Guttersnipe sight (as used on the ASP) that did away with the front sight entirely.

The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

I haven't thought about that sight in years. I never had the chance to shoot one but I would have liked the opportunity. Of all of the non-traditional sights, this one intrigued me the most.
