Awesome gun, but why was it under the counter?

It was under the counter because it's a years wait to get one and he bought another something before it arrived and then didn't want it, I guess, or couldn't afford it...don't know.

As promised, here is the PRO broken down and dirty (I use a black graphite high temp lube / grease on the rails on my pistols because it doesn't evaporate or dry out, my father uses light oils, my father-in-law uses 90 weight on his, each to their own);


I find it interesting that the Pro uses the little guide rod and the TRP uses the two piece, screw together, special tool guide rod. Why?
I'm thinking of trying the smaller one, like above on her TRP....sure would make it easier to break down and clean.

I found a 7yd and 15 yard target from the first couple of boxes of ammo through the TRP.
This is 7yds with the Mrs. plinking....I asked her what she was aiming at and her answer was the numbers or the lines or whatever. So please don't make any judgements based on the body shot placements and accuracy. The Mrs. is an excellent shot and can out shoot me any day of the week. I circled the one magazine I shot on the head to give you an idea. It's a good shooter.


Here are three mags worth at fifteen yards with me shooting the TRP during the first two boxes of ammo through it, once again, remember I am shooting as fast as I can reset (I am trying to learn trigger reset technique) and I am not a very accurate paper shooter. Ok, I admit it, I'm not a very good shot, period.......but these pistols sure help. The father-in-law was an olympic pistol shooter, it's humbling to watch him shoot.....as a matter of fact it's downright boring to watch him shoot. It's like he has rails attached that make all of his rounds hit the center of the bullseye. If he misses, it's due to bad ammo.


Thanks for the link Mo, I'll get something for it tomorrow. It should be interesting to see how much difference it makes in the accuracy with the short rod.

It won't affect accuracy but it will sure have an effect on reliability and takedown. A two piece guiderod is a malfunction waiting to happen.

I have also heard that the GI setup is preferred by some because it allows the user to clear a malfunction with one hand easier than with the full length guide rods.

FBI's specification requires a GI plug and short rod to aid in tool less take downs. It does not affect accuracy and I prefer all mine that way.

I remember the mention in a recent defensive handgun course.....it also aides in one hand chambering, particularly when using an object to help you chamber. Makes sense.

Question. How many mags does your Pro come with? I have heard conflicting stories between 5 and 6. The other I have got comes with 6. Fixing to pick up another one and was wondering. On the side note. I ordered mine in Feb and just got called that it is here. It must be record time since I have read about the 12 month wait.
