HD Road King. No backrest of the driver's seat. That is one of the reasons I was contemplating a SOB. Just seems easier to carry since my bike is my car.

You know you can get backrests for every bike? I can get em for my sportster, I'm not going to, ugly and not worth it. But give it a try, and depending on how you sit in regular chairs it could be comfortable for you.

Tx Sz 11: Just use a good IWB at 3:00. I ride a Road King too. I use a IWB and never have any problems
concealing etc. I advise you to steer clear of the SOB holster, too many negatives. Leave the SOB holsters
for the TV or movie actors.

Just remember... As a last resort, you can always duct tape it between your shoulderblades!

Every once in a while I carry SOB, It has some definate advantages and disadvantages to my regular carry.MY SOB carry is an Uncle Mikes nylon clipon holster. with a Beretta 92. a rather big set up. The advantage is that if I'm not sitting it leaves access to both pockets. It stays concealed even if very active. This particular setup doesn't need to be threaded through a belt so it is more grab and go.

My other gun is a Ruger p95 this is my every day gun. Worn with a Humes JIT Outside the waist 3:00 Its still a big gun.

The advantages of SOB are:

• Less likely to accidently expose when active than standard outside the waist carry.
• More comfortable when one isn't seated, not all that bad for rides of less than 1/2 hour ( the uncle mikes has some padding).
• Quick to grab and go, no threading through the pants.
• It is really the only way I can carry my Beretta on me and concealed. Other wise it is limited to bag carry or car carry.
• It is safe, I find that to covermyself my wrist would be turned at an unnatural angle.
• less likely to be bumped into there

Of course there are some disadvantages otherwise I would carry SOB all the time. There is no access when you are driving and It is a slower draw, but it is a reasonable option depending on how one is dressed and what their intended activities are.

I carry my Kahr MK9 with a Galco SOB holster all the time. I am 5 10 and weigh 155 so I am a bit of the slender side. It is the easiest way to carry concealed, and it is fairly comfortable as long as I don't have to drive in the car for an extended period of time. If I have to drive, I use a Fobus holster so I can reposition while in and out of the car.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the driver's backrest. I had one on my last bike and I felt like I was crammed in up front. I've take some long trips on this bike without a backrest and I did not have any problems with pain, so I won't be getting one anytime soon. I have the rear one for my wife because it isn't as comfortable back there, but passing on the driver's option.

I'm a heavy person, so the IWB isn't real comfortable for me. I'd love to pull it off, but I'm going to need to go to weight watchers for a bit before that happens.

I'll be a regular movie star...

I often carry a PT-709 SOB as a BUG to my Glock ... have carried Glock 26 SOB and Glock 19 at 3:00, but on wooden-backed Pews/benches at Church, it's a bit noisy when I clunk.

I see SOB holsters as useful for some specialty situtions, ie store clerks. But for motorcycle carry, that carry method makes me nervous for a number of reasons,

I actually decided against getting one...I got something else. I may try one down the road for the sake of trying it. We'll see...thank all of you for the input.
