I had a ccw in Colo. way back in '83 before they were common, and I carried every day for about 2 years until I moved. It was not exciting to me when I got my Tx chl and now it has also become common place for me to carry everyday. My fear is that i will become too comfortable and walk into a plase that is posted and not even think about it. I have to make my self remember to check the signage before entering a building.
I really can't understand the reason behind not being able to carry anywher, I mean we all have been checked out and are known to be on the right side, so why not be allowed to carry anywhere.
Hey, I know there is no way anyone can ansewr that question, I'm just glad that we can carry most places.

For me, it was 1974 when I graduated from our Academy. Been a long time. Can't remember any excitement concerning carrying a weapon concealed or openly; learning how to track consumed most of my time back then. Frankly, tracking was the huge excitement.

The excitement started to wear off after the incident at my sister's.
I realized that not everyone is as interested in self-protection as I am.

I still firmly value my right to carry, and do so all the time. I carry everywhere I legally can, because I believe it is my duty (to myself and my family) and my right.

It's now like leaving the house without the cell phone--way too difficult. I just can't bring myself to leave home without either one.

Since I can't carry at work, it usually stays locked in the trunk of my car in a lifejacket safe until I get home, but I know its there if I plan to go anywhere before or after.

Good job. It is not in me to leave the house w/o either phone or arm.

I guess the first major mental change for me was being confident enough to carry cocked. Now it is a very serious committment to my personal protection.

The most "excitement" I've experienced in a long time is the thought of having to explain to an LEO on a traffic stop, "Well officer, my Driver's Licnese number is -------- and my CHL number is ----. I've got my pistol in my pants on my right hip, but I forgot my wallet today ... Would you like to follow me home to see my IDs?"

Yep, it's happened twice this year. I'm more likely to get out the door without my wallet or the cell phone than without the five-holer!
