Wear it next to your holster at the gun show so they know you're legit.

"What can they do if you take one in and start taking pictures anyways?"
Probably depends on the show. And your response to the first individual who confronts you. My guess is you need to be prepared to be treated just slightly better than the dude who has a negligent discharge.

Maybe if, you have a CHL BADGE...they'll allow pictures OR, will they thump your head with a Kimber ? !
I miss all the excitement of last year's gun shows ! Seems more quieter now.
Did the Vendors over buy last year, which shows a higher retail this year ?
I also heard publicly, one vendor complaining of, no sales...he quiped about his cost of show, food & having to stay at a hotel for two nights.
Not sure if I'll attend this show again .. IF I DO, I'll take another look at those CHL BADGES and have an eye out for the SASHES .... (( Now that I know Purplehood, is in the market ! ))

My ex brother in law had a CHL badge and he would flash it around as if he was a cop. The guy even had pictures on myspace of him dressed in a swat shirt with AR trying to do tactical moves in the backyard.

This crazy gives gun owners a bad reputation!

Guys,
I always get hammered for this, but there are times that I would LOVE the whole world to know that I'm a CHL and I'm armed. I donno' if a badge would get the point across, but what I'm talking about is trying to get some of the advantages of open carry with a legally concealed weapon; versus reacting to an attack.
Mind you, I prefer to be incognito most of the time, but there are times that I want a flashing sign that says, "bother the next (unarmed) guy." There are folks here who have debated with me that thugs are brazen enough to stick up a guy that they know has a loaded weapon, but I still assert that criminals would rather pick on the easy mark; isn't that why the CHL movement has reduced (prevented) overall crime?

Wait-Is he that crazy guy that tells people to grab slides when a gun is pointed at them?

Have a shirt made that says so. Then when things go bad just tear your clothes back to reveal the chl cape

No matter how many times I run it through my head, it still seems better for me that a would-be attacker know that I'm armed. I wonder if a rape attempt has ever been made on a woman who was walking a pit bull. I mean sure the attacker has a weapon and might stand a chance against the dog and there's always a chance that the dog is more of a psychological deterrent than a real killer; but I just don't think the attacker would chance it when there's another potential victim walking a chihuahua.

I still vote for stealth.
Nobody (except my wife) needs to know whether I'm carrying or not, unless . . .

Here's a scenario.
3 guys enter a stop and rob, with the intention of robbing it. They walk the aisles for a bit, getting into 'position'
They see you are armed, because you're Openly Carrying.
Instead of going right for the clerk, they pull out a gun and shoot you, eliminating their only apparent resistance immediately, before you even have a chance to react.
They they tell everyone else in the store that if anyone tries anything, they'll shoot them too.
You're laying in a pool of your own blood, the robbers get the cash, maybe shoot some other people, and walk out into the night.
Will they get caught? Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't matter. You're still dead.
Will obvious armed resistance dissuade most criminals? Probably.
Will it dissuade them all? No. Some might like a challenge, or just not care because they're so high on drugs.
Please keep in mind, I'm all FOR open carry. Just because something isn't tactically wise, in my opinion, doesn't mean it should be illegal.

That's the way I see it.

Anything can happen, including a 2 faced cat (I've seen one), but drawing and firing on an armed man is an open invitation for a big, bloody, noisy shoot-out and bad guys (usually) don't like that. One could say the same thing about uniformed LEO; they'll be the first ones shot.
