I had a non-Lady Smith version Model 60 for a while and it's a great revolver. Nice triggers (as J-frame triggers go). Decent heft to it as well (not as heavy as a Ruger SP-101 or a newer .357 Model 60, but definitely heavier than an airweight).
Thanks for the promo! (Honestly, I didn't put him up to it!)

One thing to keep in mind, an exposed hammer makes it easy for more sensitive hands to cock the gun and fire. Trigger pull on any revolver will naturally be a little difficult if you don't have a stronger hand, given the mechanics involved. I would suggest she trains instead to learn a 2-handed grip that allows for a smooth hammer retraction and a "single action" pull on the trigger, much like you see in cowboy action shooting. This would be far more effective than searching for a "just right" revolver with a nice trigger pull, and the motion will work with any exposed hammer revolver (this likewise broadens her choices when shopping!).

Too many times, us "concealed carry aficionados" think too hard about the "lean and mean" fast draw, smooth holster, shoot-until-the-threat-it-gone firing scenarios. But there are many older women who don't approach concealed carry from that perspective. They want the comfort of having a pistol to protect them, but they can't (or won't) learn the kind of gross muscle motor controls needed to manipulate a semi-auto or revolver efficiently. That isn't a knock on them (hey, my mom is in this category); what they DO want is to have _confidence_ that they can shoot their pistol reliably at a bad guy. One shot per second is fast enough for them, and very doable with an exposed hammer cock-and-shoot 2-handed method.
