I've shot close to 5k rounds of Brown Bear thru my XDs maybe less than 4 FTF or FTE

By the way, didn't mean to bad-mouth steel case ammo earlier in thread. To add on to what cajunautoxer wrote above, for the first 10 years I shot my Glock 23 the ONLY FTF/FTE I ever had was with Blazer aluminum. So I never used it again and never had another FTF/FTE - EVER for more than 10 years. Because of this I just stuck to brass-case and never even bothered with steel (plus heard the steel case can be hard on extractors, etc.)

Now that my Glock is pushing 13 years old I've started to have an occasional FTF/FTE - just replaced the recoil spring and the slide stop (which had become bent outward slightly over the years - and I may have been inadvertantly bumping it up on recoil, thus locking the slide back).

Anyway, point is I'm glad to hear so many of you have had good experiences with steel-case ammo. Might have to try some sometime to see how I like it. But still concerned about dirtiness of Monarch, Wolf, Brown Bear etc. .... is any of it cleaner than others? I won't shoot Monarch again (even brass case) unless I HAVE to because I just got tired of scrubbing my bore so much after every range session (used to take me 45 minutes to clean my J-frame after 75 rounds of Monarch brass).

45 mins to clean a wheel gun. Maybe that's why I don't own one. I can't say exactly how much more the Brown Bear is compared to WWB. I just spay some brake cleaner then lube and I'm done. 10 min and it's back in the holster
