Either a Springfield 1911 or a Glock 30. Switching platforms not a problem because I practice alot with both systems. Comp-Tac IWB holsters for both. In Houston weather, would not use any other holsters than Comp-tac (and I have a drawer full of "other" low end, high end and other kydex holsters....much to my wifes ire)

Daily rig is a Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail Commander (CBOB). It's a 4.25" barrel with the Ed Brown bobtail mainspring, which essentially makes a "round-butt" 1911. Holster is a Comp-Tac MTAC with the C-Clips, attached to a 5.11 basic belt.
I always carry two spare mags in a Galco mag carrier. When I've got to tuck a shirt in, the mag carrier fits nicely in a back pocket--which isn't ideal for access, but keeps the mags in a known location at a fixed angle. When i don't have to tuck in a shirt, it just goes on the belt.
I've carried in this rig for everything from shorts and a T-shirt to a white-shirt and tie. Of course when the attire goes all the way to a suit or sport coat--well, it's pretty easy!

Colt lightweight Commander in a Supertuck. Undershirt makes it more comfortable.

I have a Kimber Crimson Carry Ultra II in a Super Tuck that i carry sometimes but is still just not comfortable to carry all the time
with most of my activities.I have a Kahr PM9 in a mini-tuck and i can carry it and just about forget its there its so comfortable.
I will probably carry the 45 this winter under my coat and will give better against a threat thats got layers of clothing to penatrate.
The Kimber is one dang accurate and light gun and its a real pleasure to shoot.

When we can carry (my two primary jobs don't allow it):
Dynablue: G36, 4"
OldSchool: XD45c, 4"
Very happy with both.

HarleyDave wrote:Thanks to all who responded. I've shot a Kimber just yesterday and actually shot better with it than my Glock or Springfield XD9sc so enjoying it that much I thought I'd look into the 45 caliber. But again, thanks this site always provides great information to us newbie's.
Kimbers are great machines. What did you fire?

68 charger....i shot the cdp11 I do believe. a four inch barrel. then went to the range today and shot a colt. didn't care too much for the colt due to weight and ejector in the way it seems to almost come straight back at me. I'm going to next try the springfield, then the sig to see which one seems to fit me the best. Thanks for your input.

STI Guardian in .45 acp is my present daily carry, but.....just got 600 rounds through a Bill Wilson Carry CQB compact (without a failure of any kind), and adding it to the carry rotation. Both are 4" 1911's with Defender (Officer) sized grips.
