Weight or not, I carry into BWW restaurants all over. There are no 30.06 signs and if I remain concealed as legally obiligated, I don't get verbal notice.

In each BWW that I have been in, I have found TABC signs, not very clearly posted, but they are there.

As far as the negative comments, sorry, I'll do it my way, you have yet to make a rational argument and convince me otherwise, and I have yet to see one business change to a compliant one, while I have seen one take them down, so ,my record is pretty good.

I sent BWW a "CHL card" with a note explaining why I choose not to do business with them and nowhere did I mention that their current sign is non-compliant or that they should change it, only that they are driving away business with the current sign. I have yet to receive a reply so I assume their business is just fine without my money and they don't care.

Your thinly veiled attacks are just that, very thinly veiled, and as I have said before, I welcome any business putting up compliant signs, it's an expense, its large and ugly, and will serve to drive even more business away, including those who feel they are getting away with something by "sneaking" past non-compliant signs. I am asking forum moderators to take note of the personal attacks leveled at me over this issue.

AFAIK, Texas is the only state that employs a 30.06 sign. The 30.06 sign is unique to Texas.

Why not let sleeping dogs lie? A sign that's non-compliant in Texas may be very compliant in other states of operation. Why must any Texas CH licensee call any attention to any non-compliant sign? It ain't any of our business, is it?

It's only sneaking if you're breaking the law; just like you can't sneak into the movies if you've bought a ticket and you're old enough to see the film. There is a lot of ambiguous stuff pertaining to CC, but fortunately the law makes it very clear how the sign must be posted.

Now if a non-compliant sign does get "corrected" it won't affect you and others who "abide" by non-compliant signs; but it certainly will affect the entire rest of the CHL community, and I assuming that most of us here do not don't "welcome" compliant signs. When members disagree with an unpopular sentiment on this forum, it is not a personal attack.

Now if I've said anything that is opinion or flat out incorrect, I welcome correction.

I agree-it is one of the nice things about TX law. I say we take advantage of it instead of sabotaging it.

Non-compliant signs are not about us, they are about non-CHLs. It might as well be an "unlicensed possession..." sign. Now I say break out the card for business that post 30.06.

I probably should have clarified; I didn't mean I was going to give BWW a card! It just reminded me that I should print some out, because in the last few weeks I've seen a couple of properly posted businesses, and they missed out on new customers because of it.

As stated in my original post, we still eat there on occasion. We know the 30.06 and 51% signs are the only limiting ones to us!

jimlongley - I fail to see how anyone has personally attacked you. This is a forum for sharing ideas, opinions, and information, and that's what has been happening. Disagreements are bound to come up, but it seems everyone's being very civil.
I did want to point out that "sneaking" around non-compliant signs isn't sneaking. If they are not compliant as clearly stated in Texas law, then we have no obligation to observe them.

The Buffalo Wild Wings in my town are all 51% posted. They have the big red sign right up at the door so you can miss it. The wings are great though.

I thought the sign was a mistake when I first went in as I was expecting an "applebees" kind of atmosphere. I was going to leave, but I was with my wife and she wanted to stay, so I left my gun in the trunk of her car. After getting inside, they had a big bar and there was a lot of drinking going on. More so than I expected, so I think it was legit. The other wing places, like Wing Stop, serve beer, but are not as centered around booze at the Buffalo Wild Wings. We have at least two of those in town now, and they are really alcohol oriented. Maybe it is an El Paso thing as it appears that they are not this way in east Texas.

Maybe so, but I'd check it out. Come to think of it, our's here in Austin have a huge bar area too, but it ain't 51% posted, so who knows. The BW3 (their old name) that used to be on 6th street in Austin was most likely 75% booze revenue.

I carried past a sign at my Dr.'s office an hour ago that said that state law prohibits concealed carry on their premises. I won't be writing them to correct their error.

My hospital/medical center/Dr. offices have "Gunbuster" No Firearms Allowed signs posted at the entrances. That makes them happy and that makes me happy. There is absolutely no need to tell them that their "Gunbuster" signs do not apply to me...no need whatsover.

Well, it looks like it might be time to call TABC. Just out of curiosity, I checked the TABC public inquiry system. It only lists one Buffalo Wild Wings in El Paso County. But amazingly enough, it does have enough information to make a determination. BWW in El Paso (10497 W. Gateway Blvd) has a food and beverage certificate listed as one of the subordinate TABC licenses. And since the law requires you to have 51% of your income be from food to get this certificate, it means they cannot possibly get 51% from alcoholic beverages. The sign is bogus.
