It's good advertising for that State's businesses, and good for the economy of that State. Any State Where there is a manufacturer should follow suit with what's manufactured in that State,

My neighbor does (he's a trooper)... I really like the grips from his FIRST sig 226... when he first became a trooper the 226 he got had wood grips with the trooper logo (is that the right word?) in them. The logo is gold-colored metal, but I have no idea what its made of... Brass?
Any troopers in here?

I was wondering if the Smith & Wesson Model 19/66 Combat Magnum would be a good choice, since as I understand the history it was designed at the behest of famed Border Patrol officer Bill Jordan, and didn't he spend a fair percentage of his BP time along the Texas border? At least he retired to/died in Marshall, Texas.
For official State of Texas Crew-Served Weapon, I guess that should be a Gonzalez cannon...

My preference is the Colt Walker revolver. Designed by Cpt. Sam Walker of the Texas Rangers with Sam Colt.
For official State of Texas Crew-Served Weapon, I guess that should be a Gonzalez cannon...
I like this idea also.
So, we need someone to introduce a bill naming the Bowie the official state knife, the Walker as the state revolver, the STI 1911 as the state pistol, and the Gonzales Cannon as the state crew served weapon. Maybe the Bushmaster as the state rifle (since they already made the Texas version for DPS).
