After my grandfather passed, we cleaned out his house. At the time, he had 200 rounds of CCI Blazer 9mm ammo, and even though I did not own a 9mm, I took it. Of course, I also didnt know how bad that ammo is, and now that I have a 9mm, I still have the ammo, but I dont have any desire to shoot it.

Its not THAT bad I don't think. I used to shoot some of it in a .45 that I don't have anymore. I tried the brass and aluminum rounds and never had much issue.

There is at least one range in Houston (Pasadena Indoor range) that wont let you shoot it. They have a shadow box with a revolver in it that is in several pieces. Apparently, they person was shooting CCI blazer ammo, and one round exploded in the gun and destroyed it. At least that is the story I was told.

I know that stuff can happen, and freak accidents like that can occur with any round from any manufacturer. I've never shot any of that particular ammo, but I've always heard people speak only negatively about it.

I've shot Blazer, aluminum and brass, in two calibers, in several different pistols.
Never had a problem. Have'n't shot a lot of it, but I tried it. Not the greatest ammo, but it functioned just fine.

I remember I had a box of 9mm ammo when I didnt even own a handgun. I bought it years ago when I was a teenager at a gunshow. I was going to buy a high point carbine but I needed my mom to buy it for me. She went through the backround check and had a wait placed on the sale for some reason and the gunshow ended. I never got my carbine. Thinking about it now, someone sold me a box of pistol ammo when I was about 15!

And then there's the fun of finding reloading dies for a caliber you know longer own.

Sell the dies?

Or,,,,activate firearms activation mode!!!

If I could only find some 500 Nitro dies tucked away in a dusty corner - an Express Double Rifle would be nice.
