lol, I love that argument they always bring up.. How was the crime rate in the wild west compared to now? I'm sure it wasn't all as bad as hollywood likes to make it out to be.

It has been stated that the murder rate per 100k people was FAR less in the old west than it is in any modern urban area.

Yesterday I got into a discussion with a very liberal person at a worksite on this issue. She had been talking, for about 5 minutes about how much havoc campus carry would create. Then she goes "and what will happen when a professor gives a student a bad grade?" I look at her and go "What are you saying? Do you think the professor will then shoot the student? I don't think that is too likely." That got a lot of laughs and she quieted down.
