They are farther from me than Academy, but the few times I have been to one, they seem very proud of their merchandise, especially guns, compared to Academy

I can't go to Academy, for that very reason. That, and gas being what it is. (One Academy 20 miles from me, the other 35)

Bass Pro Shops is opening in October. That's a little less than 5 miles from me. When it was announced, I turned to my wife and said, "We're gonna stay broke now, you know."

she agreed.
Hey Jason,I used to live in the Valley, grew up in the big town of Santa Rosa, where are they building a BPS ?

The next time your in Academy look for a Ruger Mark III. I have one and it's a blast to shoot.

Added a tru glo red dot scope and it's even more fun to shoot.

Well, I went to The Arms Room today and picked up a Ruger Mark III .22 caliber 5.5", I will get over to PSC Range this weekend at least once, but probably twice to try it out.
I know, no pics, it didn't happen, so here is a picture:

So I have a question.... I asked the guy at The Arms Room how to break it down to clean it, he said in no uncertain terms "Don't". "most people who break it down to clean end up taking it in to them, in a bag, to put it back together, and their gun smiths will grab a new one to see how it gets put back together." - I am not making this stuff up people, he said it... and I believe him and why wouldn't I?

So he said instead, just use a bore snake for the barrel and a q-tip to clean the breach area.
So I picked up a bore snake for the .22 and for my 9mm

My question then is, do you run it through dry or do you put Hoppe's on it and if so, do you drench it or what is the common trick here? (and does this same philosophy work for all bore snakes or just for the .22?

Thanks!
