I cordially agree that wetting out a brand new holster is NOT a good idea for loosening a tight fit!

...I cordially disagree with that opinion, it is a solid and time-honored method of refitting a holster that has been used for much longer than the 45 years I've done it...by professional leatherworkers, gunmen, and sportsmen...it's neither outdated nor "not a good idea"...just because there are those who choose to do it another way...if I had a dollar for every holster that'd been refitted that way, I could split it between you, me, and WildBill and we'd all be able to buy a coupla new guns...a lot of the manufacturers wet-fit the leather to the gunblock...and tell you not to use anything on the holster...when you DO send it back to them to re-fit it...reckon what they do??? New ways don't make the old ways "outdated" or "not a good idea"...that makes as much sense as saying the 1911 is "outdated" or "not a good idea" because they now have Glocks...both are fine...work fine...as do the three posted ways of making a holster looser...you don't have to trash the one to give credence to the other...and I'd believe Bill Jordan's advice before ANY professional leather maker...since they took and made millions off his advice on holsters...ever see a "Jordan Holster" for sale?...
