They are very blurry, but I believe this is true. Thanks. This one's a keeper. I bought it NIB in about 1996. It has a 5" barrel, which is kind of an unusual length, and I think they only made this version of it for a couple of years. No trigger lock, of course. I'm not given to naming my guns under normal circumstances, but somehow along the way, this one picked up the nickname of "Big Poppa." well I was not really in the market for the gun but if I was gonna get a S&W for 250-300 I would have picked it up, I dont think he will go down to a price I would pay for it now. guess it does not hurt to make him an offer though... Edited to add: To the OP, if you can get a price you can live with, Taurus IS a reputable brand, and a solidly made .44 Special pistol with a good stout SD load rivals a .45 ACP in capability. I wouldn't turn down this gun if the price is right if I were you...unless you really have your heart set on a S&W.
