I don't like the scale look although...

I like rounded butts and i cannot lie

On paper, this new E-series (Commander length, bobtail, Scandium frame) is really,
really close to what I've been hoping S&W would start manufacturing for a while. Looking forward to handling one and seeing whether or not the actual pistol lives up to my hopes.

I am generally not a 1911 guy, but when I saw a picture of the Christensen Arms 1911 Classic, I thought about selling my car so I could buy this gun, and just walk everywhere from now on.

I wish you hadn't posted this, now I'm trying to figure out what I have to sell to get one.

  Good choice.
My first 1911 is the little brother to that one, a 3" CDP.

As you can see by my Screen name I'm a big fan of Kimbers. I have a Raptor II and it's the most comfortable gun I've ever shot plus it's beautiful. I don’t know much about the S&W 1911 but I have to say this one is gorgeous!
The raptors retail for about 1300 to 1400 but there is a used one in the market place for around 1k if I remember right. You can’t go wrong with Kimber!
