Right. But I do have a problem with calls from non Texas residents. I suspect a lot of that was going on as well.

This is true. How many might have had OOS phone numbers, but said, "Well, I'm a student at UT" (or A&m or Tech, etc.) and they really weren't.

That's an excellent reason for Texas gun owners who want campus safety to vote against legislators who didn't actively push campus safety.

If their votes represented the interests of their constituents, it's fair for them to expect their constituents to vote for them. However, if they didn't represent their constituents, it's the epitome of representative democracy for their constituents to vote against them.

Hypothetically speaking, if they represented the interests of out-of-state people (or even out-of-district people) instead... well, let's see how many votes they get from the out-of-state people they represented.

Nothing is for certain, especially in politics. It's not over until it's over.

I'm quite dissapointed this initiative FAILED... what the heck.. do we need a genuine dissaster like Virginia Tech before Strauss and his gang wake up and smell the coffee?

I just finished my Assoc Degree at Collin County, and there were many times that I'd come out of the building late at night and see suspicious cars in the parking lot/garage, and no security in sight. Female students and teachers would never refuse an escort out to their car. A couple even changed their parking locations so they could park near my usual area.

I'm 50+, and I've had my CHL for 15 years now. I'm probably the poster child against the 'Brady Bunch' stereotypes of crazy drunken students. DPS and other LEO trust me to walk amongst the general population in the mall, cinema, grocery store, and on every road/interstate in Texas..

I'd like to finish my BA, and perhaps MBA or JD in the next few years, and that means more night school.
Next session, I'm going to somehow get on the 'witness' list for one of these bills. Sarah Brady herself couldn't poke
a hole in my background, credentials or reasoning for CHL on Campus.
