Re: Kel-Tec P-11
I picked up one for my wife this last weekend and she was able to shoot it Sunday evening. She liked it much better than any of the smaller guns she has shot due to the trigger. It took a few shots for her to get accustom to the long travel before the trigger breaks but once she did that and got a proper grip she was shooing inside a 10 inch circle at 7 yards. I counted 4 bullseyes and about half the shots inside 5 inches. Not bad for not having shot the gun before and not shooting at all in around 5 months. This was one of the few times she has been excited to shoot.
Her initial comment when I bought it was that the gun was "bigger than she wanted. I took time to explain she needed an effective "bullet" and that the smaller the gun is the more it is going to "kick" and be harder to hang on to. She told me she did like it and liked it more after shooting it.
When I decided to buy the gun it was actually for my mom to tell the truth. But, I could tell my wife was disappointed when I told her that so I made a deal with her. I told her if she would get her CHL and CARRY THE GUN I would give it to her. To my amazement she agreed to take the class sometime in the next few months. So, now I get to buy my mom a 709, pay for a class and license for my wife. Worth every penny in my opinion.

I won't lie and say that my P11 has been flawless. I had the same issue as CEOofEVIL where the part that makes the slide lock back broke off. But that was easily fixed.
The biggest issue that I've had has been the trigger return spring can jump out of the groove in the trigger bar rendering the gun inoperable. Apparently KT had a batch where the groove isn't smooth or deep enough or something. I did work on mine to help reduce this issue. Using hot ammo hurts this more, but the gun wasn't designed to work with hot ammo.
