I was kinda bothered by how heavy and long the trigger pull was, and I want to get the M&P compact. Other than the trigger its a pretty good gun.
If you don't like the trigger pull on your XDm then you will hate it on the M&P and it takes about $80-$100 to make it nice.

I don't believe the XDm is of any better quality than the M&P but, the trigger is certainly no better.
I don't know I love the trigger on the M&P compared to the XDm, in my opinion there is a huge difference.
Do you just like heavy, gritty triggers?

My M&P45 had a 7#, 11oz trigger from the factory. $100 later with an Apex Tactical DCAEK it is 4#, 6oz and much smoother.
A few Glocks, a few Kahrs, Dan Wesson CBOB 10mm, Dan Wesson CBOB 45ACP, Springer Champion Operator

Thats weird, cause mine feels neither heavy nor gritty, it defiantly feels lighter than the XDm and the travel is much shorter. I mean it's not the smoothest thing in the world but I feel it's better than what I had. Maybe I just got lucky or maybe S&W has smoothed out the trigger a little. I also love the grip on the M&P compared to the XDm. Did you like the Apex kit? I was looking into doing one of those anyways.
