, there's no reason not to shoot 3/4in groups (this is center to center of course) at 7yds ( I assume we're talking freehand as well).

Most of the groups published in gun rags and marketing are usually shot in a block or vice of some sort or from a rest with very very slow shot timing to see what the gun can do without a human factor. Most firearms are more accurate than their owners...we are the variable in the experiment for sure. I think the Wilson offerings are beautiful, but have no need or want to drop that kind of coin on one. I sure want to shoot a few though...

For a list price of $2550, one could get an Ed Brown Kobra or Special Forces and have money left over . . . or a Les Baer Premier II or TRS and have more money left over.

Not that Wilsons are bad . . . it's just that the way they're priced today, better values in upper-end 1911s abound.

(And at 7 yards, "fist sized" groups aren't particularly impressive unless the magazine was emptied in <2 seconds or so.)

x100. At that price I'd be looking at an Ed Brown. I have handled Ed Brown, Wilson, and Nighthawks and IMHO the Ed Browns are the better of the three.

Agreed on 7 yd group. I can shoot fist sized groups with a run of the mill Kimber or Springer so not a great indicator. I thought they were guaranteed to shoot a 1" group at 25 yards or something like that. I'm sure that's out of a vice, but still.

Thanks Bill for the plug! I had it priced right for what it was and a lot of extras so it has sold.
