I just tried with IE & and got the database error. I use Mozilla as a rule and it works fine.

I just tried with Mozilla and it came up "database error". I pinged thir site and got an IP address but when i tried the address it returned a different domain name, locke.hondapenda.com
My first thought is that it has been redirected but I can't tell.

I tend to regard testimonials from the gun rags with a bit of suspicion ever since I bought a Kahr P9 based on the praise heaped on it by all the gun rags - as neat as the package was, it turned out to be a horribly unreliable little gun, with numerous problems. (Kahr replaced it, and I traded the brand new replacement for a G26 . . . a little more bulky, but it WORKS!)

Now, the XD45 looks really interesting . . . I really would like a hicap .45, but the G21 is just a little too big to be comfortable in my hand, and I've seen too many 1911-based hicaps with problems to be confident in getting one for myself.

I'd be interested in hearing feedback from forum members having 1st hand experience with the XD45 - has it been reliable, accurate, sensitive to "limp-wristing", etc.

I have an XD-9 and I have had two XD-45's.
My son-in-law liked my XD's so much he gave up his Glock .40 and bought two XD-45's, a service and a tactical.

My uncle liked my XD-45's so much he bought one of them.

We've become an XD family!

I'm taking the XD 45 out to the range on Thursday for the first time. I've heard plenty of positive things about this gun. I'll post Thursday night and let you know how it went.

I'm about ready to trade for an XD-45 Compact, but they haven't hit the shelves around here yet.

If I asked you which was a 'better shooter', the service length or the tactical, what would you sway me to get, and why?

Hank, *everyone* that has shot my XD 9mm Sub-Compact has stated that they like it. One has already bought one, another is after a .40 cal.
My friend that owns *lots* of pistols, stated that he thinks it is a fabulous shooter. Note that shooting is his passion, and he owns 20+ pistols of all types, that I know of. (You could discount his vote though: He thinks the Kahr M9 is a great gun! Ha!)

I can't imagine that if you went thru a box of ammo, and got used to the trigger pull, that you wouldn't want one for yourself...

I get a bit better group out of my 9 than the .45, both being the service 4" model but to be honest I have nearly a thousand rounds more through the 9mm than the .45.
Here's the type of group that I get from my 9mm.



and according to the tatical that my son-in-law has it shoots a bit tighter than my service model 9mm.

I wish I had access to the photos from my home computer, but they are stored on my work machine, maybe I'll be able to post them a bit later.

Kevin, I need to make a Texarkana Trip probably next week. Will let you know the exact date. I made some inquiries about the XD45 Compact at a couple of dealers, they said it would be a while before they have any.

That's what I figured.

Just give me a shout before you come over. I work 4-Midnight, Sunday-Thursday.

I had a chance to take the XD45 out to the range today for its initial shoot.
It shot really well, smooth with some snap. Much as I remember shooting The Marshal's XD9 compact, but more snap. Shot about 50 rounds through it. But I noticed my old problem of shooting too low. A buddy of mine says that I'm anticipating the kick of the gun which he thought was interesting as it was the first time I had shot this gun. He has volunteered to bring me back and "work it" out of me.

Interesting as we walked back to the target and I saw it just covered in small holes....much to small for a .45. Well the target was attached to a mount that was on top of a stack of railroad ties. My buddy figured that I had shot low enough to hit the ties and shower the target in wood fragments.

I still plan a Thursday shoot as well. I'll see if I can do better.

I am really surprised about the XD and how they are catching on. And I really like the grip on the XD45 and amazed how comfortable it is.

I overheard a Ray's Hardware employee tell a customer that they have a 2-month wait time, and that they sell out in 2-3 days when they get'em.

They shoot good. Can't wait to get S&W6946's .45 pistola in my hand, woohoo!
