My CHL photo was used, not my DL photo...and thank God! I'd rather been seen with my post-retired facial hair than the clean-cut look.

Boy I hope I get in on the test and the use my DL picture, I did not like my pictures I sent in. Most of my friends that already have their CHL complain about the pictures on them.

I WISH I had gotten in on the test - the photos the girl took at the local CVS rival mug shots posted on TMZ!!! And of course, that's the one DPS used... Argh!

Both my DL & CHL were taken within months of each other and were the correct ones. Both have my best John Dillinger look. Missed out on an acting career. Would have made a great movie gangster. Heck if I was a cop I'd arrest myself after seeing my pictures.

I've had my CHL for 2 years now, and I have shown it to a grand total of 5 people (me, the LEO who was nice enough to just give me a warning for speeding, and the LEO who investigated a recent accident where I was rear ended, and 2 FFL's).
I look like a convict having a bad hair day in my CHL pic, but unless the next LEO who stops me is a former model who has a thing for slightly overweight older guys, I don't see why I would care what the heck it looks like.

Just thought I would chime in, I know this thread is a few months old. I got my CHL back yesterday and noticed that they used my DL photo and not the photos I had done at CVS, which was fine with me, this was the first DL pic I have had that I actually liked and I didn't like my CVS pics. It also took my 71 days to get my CHL so maybe they were going back and forth about which picture they wanted to use. I never received any kind of notice that my CVS pictures were unacceptable.

I wish they had used my DL picture or my original CHL picture for my renewal. Instead, they used some other guy's picture!!! Honest to God, I opened up the envelope upon receiving my renewal, and another guy's picture and signature was on my plastic!!. My address, license number, DOB, etc were all correct, but I had suddenly aged significantly, changed my name, grew hair on my shaved head, and had a really bad moustache!!
DPS was already aware of the mixup but caught it after mailing. My new one is en route.
Cheers!

What I was told in the class is that---if they get a picture that for some reason doesn't scan in well, rather than send you a notice to send them a new picture, they are using the DL picture. They are looking at the process to make that the norm and not have to send pics
