Not really, OC is a Hazardous Material. It has a 3 for health on the MSDS, and a 1 for fire.Paladin wrote:Should point out that there is no clear limit. As "small" is undefined. TXI has previously stated that the DPD does not believe riot units are legal. The keychain units are clearly legal. 2oz or 4oz units should be fine.kauboy wrote:PC46 WEAPONS
(14) "Chemical dispensing device" means a device,
other than a small chemical dispenser sold commercially for
personal protection, that is designed, made, or adapted for the
purpose of dispensing a substance capable of causing an adverse
psychological or physiological effect on a human being.
No size limit there. I just wouldn't load a fire-truck up with it and dispense it with the hose.![]()

Sabre is good stuff too.Russell wrote:Well, unfortunately none of the gun and ammo shops around here, including Sarge's carries Fox. I went back to Burdettes however and found a small batton holder that has a slip for your belt to slide into, and one of the small Sabre pepper spray containers fit in it perfectly![]()
Sabre apparently is what NYPD uses, and it says it has Cayenne Pepper, "military grade tear gas", and invisible UV dye. Does that sound reasonably powerful enough to stop an attacker?
I keep forgetting to mention that whoever gets sprayed will glow under a UV light, because of the dye.Russell wrote:Well, unfortunately none of the gun and ammo shops around here, including Sarge's carries Fox. FOX has dye as well, but I don't think its UV activated. I think its just a visible staining dye.lrb111 wrote:I keep forgetting to mention that whoever gets sprayed will glow under a UV light, because of the dye.
OC certainly is a substance that is considered a Hazardous Material. And it has a molecular formula...txinvestigator wrote: Not really, OC is a Hazardous Material. It has a 3 for health on the MSDS, and a 1 for fire.
Its chemical formula is C18H27NO3.
I had the chance to open carry in a couple of states over the last week and decided against it. Just not my thing, but I do admit that I was tempted to try it out for a few minutes. I did not want to explain the amount of firearms and ammo that we had in the van for Front Sight. True testimony for Comp-Tac..I rode with my Infidel and G26 for over three thousand miles and was not uncomfortable until I had to take it off.Liberty wrote:If your gun gets a little uncomfortable while your in the car. go ahead, remove it from the holster and set it on the dash... If only for a few minutes. Yeah I know you don't normally think much of open carry, but you gotta admit its kinda nice to be able to do that.jbirds1210 wrote:www.comp-tac.com
You will have your FoxLab quickly! Stuff is worth every cent. I have been a real believer in it over the last week in Vegas. I can't carry my gun hereThank God we will be in Arizona sometime early tomorrow morning.

Fox has UltraViolet dye in it. Says so right on the label, of all places.kauboy wrote:FOX has dye as well, but I don't think its UV activated. I think its just a visible staining dye.lrb111 wrote:I keep forgetting to mention that whoever gets sprayed will glow under a UV light, because of the dye.
