Even if this is a rumor--a rather nauseating one. It does not diminish the point that a weapon--ANY weapon--is better than a cell phone during an attack of any kind be they two legged or four legged predators. A hot cup of coffee thrown in the face of an attacker is better than the cell phone in your purse or pocket. It could easily happen. People are killed by wild animals all the time, people are killed by wild humans all the time too. The police get there in time to mark a chalk outline of your body and send your effects to your relatives. You must be prepared to defend yourself. Especially if you are in an area where wild beasts be they human or animal are known to frequent.

In the same fantasy world he lives in now.AndyC wrote:Well, to repeat a point yet again - even if one had a cellphone and called the police, they have no obligation to respond. Where would that leave Colin Goddard?
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

lol I wrote articles about types of search engines/metasearch/specialized engines/boolean junk etc before Google started, back when I worked at MSN in it's early days.
After 25 years of legal research, finding stuff is not real hard, I just don't bother to on things where I deem it unimportant. Even if it's a fiction story picked up by all the European TV and Newspapers ... it paralleled Colin's sequence of events enough to remind me to be armed when I go fishing, and avoid defenseless victim zones. I don't have the mental energy I did 42 or so years ago when I started messing with computer stuff.

on the floor/ground defenseless; holding a cell phone, while repeatedly being attacked, while waiting ...AndyC wrote:Well, to repeat a point yet again - even if one had a cellphone and called the police, they have no obligation to respond. Where would that leave Colin Goddard?

I wonder if I could rig a gun to autodial 911 (or any other #, or send a txt, or whatever) when the trigger is pulled? Hmm...speedsix wrote:...I'd rather reload than redial any day...
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.
