Thanks for the info yerasimos, I was not aware in Missouri CCW is a stamp on the drivers license (learn something new every day!).
And by the way, I agree with playing it safe and informing the officer of the CHL to avoid any misunderstandings. My question about the availability of information was driven by curiosity. I've always wondered how much information states exchange on their citizens...

Thanks for all the info. BTW in MO you have the choice of either getting the CCW stamp for your license or being issued a ID card with the CCW stamp. I have the ID card reason being the driving license is 6 year our CCW is only 3 years so you don't need a new drivers license every 3 years. I look forward to going to Houston to see my grandaughter. If I come through Arkansas I can carry all the way. Kansas doesn't start till 01/01/07 and won't state who they have reciprosity with till later in the month.

Antares,
Welcome to Texas! It might be a good idea to print-out some kind of proof that MO & TX have a reciprocal recognition arrangement for CHL (TX) & CCW (MO). The purpose of this would be for the "field education" of an officer stopped you and you had to show him your Missouri license.

Antares:
If you choose to do that, here's a link to the PDF file containing the reciprocity proclamation from our state capitol:
