I'd still say a good pellet gun was in order. Quiet, and effective. (Financials aside)

You've beaten me into submission. I would have to agree on all counts and suggest the shorts as well.Rex B wrote:I like pellet guns and have a few stout versions. While the FPS is there, the mass ain't, so the energy delivered to the varmint is not enough unless you get a very accurate head-shot.
Also, airguns take a different skillset. They are very hold-sensitive, and also ammo-sensitive.
My choice would be a long-barrel (22" - 24") bolt gun shooting .22 shorts or Aquila SSS. Both will make about the same noise as a pellet gun, are more accurate, and deliver a lot more mass to the problem area. My 60-year old Stevens bolt-action will group 1" at 25 yards with SSS all day long.
Absolutely!I just bought a Walther model 94 lever-action CO2 rifle.CaptWoodrow10 wrote:You've beaten me into submission. Still, a good pellet gun and a lot of pellets make for a fun afternoon in the backyard.

Great on targets and cans, not enough for varmints larger than hornets

Then I bought a Gamo suppressed pellet gun but it is louder than advertised. Noise will get you in trouble. My question is, won't a skunk still spray when it is shot?
From other forums discussions on skunks, I gather they will not spray if it is a perfect brain shot -- immediate CNS kill.Tallinthesaddle wrote:My question is, won't a skunk still spray when it is shot?
Try one of these once in a while as punctuation: ".", followed by an upper case letter...........as in:JeepGuy79 wrote:This is TX baby go get a 10/22 and a can for it or at least a .22 upper/kit for your AR-15 and can it.

Sorry. It's Saturday morning, the pain pill is starting to kick in, and I'm feeling a bit like a cheeky monkey.
