Go totally crazy and try different colors in different jugs.

Just talked with an old Navy buddy of mine and I mentioned this topic to him. He reminded me of what we used back in the day while our ship was in the yards. We would go down to the golf course and buy some used golf balls. Going out to the woods, we would take our .22 rifles and after throwing the balls out a ways, we would see who could knock his ball further with a given number of shots. Stick a little 4 power scope on a Ruger 1022 and you would be surprised at what you can do......LOL :thumbs2:

Those are a crowd pleaser for sure! Watching the video though, I have to wonder what the result was when that guy set off 100 lbs of that stuff...... :woohoo

Yeah, that would have been cool to see. I wonder what he packed that in. It'd have to be a pretty big container.

Charcoal briquettes produce a nice "puff" when hit and they biodegrade easily.

Cheap lollipops are brightly colored, reactive (they disintegrate when hit), biodegradable, and they come with their own target stands (the stick).

A can of V-8 is always a real showstopper!

I can't begin to tell you how much I've laughed at and enjoyed this thread. I've gotten some great ideas and next time I go to practice, I can integrate that much more fun into a serious subject. I hope we can keep this going for a while, as there seems to be a great deal of ingenuity going here.....Thanks to everyone! :woohoo

For cheap targets I really like bulk paper plates and colored baloons.

For reactive targets I really like steel simply because I get an audible tone when I hit. Also the same baloons mentioned before filled with water. Sometimes you can find fruit or vegetables that are very close to their expiration date for super cheap. I've always wanted to start a garden and then shoot some vegetables and see if anything grows. :fire

Those look fun. It would be great it they could make them to look like golf balls or some other innocent looking object.

Well, you mix the explosives together in a bag. then you could pour it into pretty much any sealable container. They advise against glass and such to avoid fragmentation injuries, but you could probably find a way to do something like that. :thumbs2:

I'm surprised no one has mentioned propane bottles.

The fun had is proportional to the size chosen.

Much as I hate to say it, I have some serious reservations on this one. I'm not criticizing or condemming mind you, it's just that the possibilities of unintended damage are a bit high for me.....
