I've been following this thread for a while and was curious to know what the situation was at the moment. Thanks for your feedback and I hope everything is well with it. I'm considering a Citadel 3" (officer) and an ATI FX (3" as well) 1911 and wondering if you had any more issues since this is kind of RIA's territory. I'm looking for a cheap, reliable and yet heavy compact 1911. I was looking at a Kimber / S&W / Colt / STI but the price is a bit TOO high. I was hoping to spend money and then some on rounds, holster, defense ammo (+ ammo jhp to cycle) through an ATI / Citadel / RIA and hope it ran fine. Looking for Novak sights rather than GI sights.
All in all, thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Work and house remodeling have gotten in the way since my last update. I'll be heading to Elm Fork this Friday and will post a range report afterwards.
See you same bat time same bat channel Friday.

Went to the range today as tomorrows forecast calls for heavy thunderstorms. I ran 100 rounds of Federal 230 Gr ball through the gun. Ran the 100 rounds with zero problems. My next trip to the range I'll run 100 rounds of JHP. If it runs them with no problems then i'll add the RIA compact to my options list for carry.

Have you tried some Wilson mags in it yet?...Sounds like mag issues.

I bought MEC GAR officer model mags at the last Irving Gus Show. I used them yesterday with the Federal ammo.
