The OP mis-counted. There were 4 kids involved!

I was

about that too.
Funny thing is I had this happen to me but the other way around. I had a pretty quick truck in highschool and liked to hotrod around. One day I whipped out of the school parking lot and fishtailed across to the middle turn lane. Well, at the next light, the guy in front of me hops out of his car and came running up to my rolled down window and procedes to rip me a new one. You shoulda seen his face when he saw his daughter in my front seat.

He ran over to the passenger side, grapped her arm and marched her to his car. That was pretty much the last time she was ever in my truck. I did improve my driving after that though, he had me puckered up pretty good.

Y'all just read one example of why the anti-gunners want all guns banned.

No. What is it?
My guesses that the OP knows full well how wrong his reactions were, and he was already actively engaged in that soul searching–which is why he posted his story here......both as a confessional
AND a warning to others.
I'm not going to beat up on him. He already knows what he did wrong. I take it more as a warning to the rest of us to be in control of ourselves at all times, and to not give voice to the demons of our lesser nature.

And of course the corollary question, what if one of the "kids" was a CHL, or MPA, or even carrying illegally? What the OP did could easily be perceived as an attack under the very sketchy circumstances, and if the one that was armed was hot headed too, even if less so than the OP, the result could have been way different.

The monkey dance is part of violence dynamics (google the phrase) where someone negatively acts, then you react in a not-so-cool manner. This causes them in turn to beat their chest, to which you have to then do harder. Usually ends up with both parties in the wrong, doing things they never intended. If we don't dance, it ends with first act of the other. Being honked at never killed anyone. However, once in the dance, it is still easy to stop...just say "Know what, I shouldn't have whatever-it-was" and walk away.
Here are some articles on it:

I agree with jimlongley. The main reason I got a CHL is, punks don't always fist fight anymore. They just shoot you. The idea that they will just take a lecture from an adult and go home with their tail between their legs, just can't depend on it. Too many of them were not raised that way, if at all.

If you really wanted to talk to them and explain your anger you might have followed them and talked to them in the next parking lot they pulled in to.
Can't say I haven't done the same thing, though its been a couple of decades.
I understand your anger.
But it could have been handled in constructive way.
At this point hey probably view you as a crazy and no good was done from your action.

Me too...
And did you get their license plate the second time? What'd the police say when you called it in?

I'm quite sure the OP knows by now that he messed up. No reason to pile on him anymore.

I think he knew that when he posted originally because he admitted cooler heads didn't prevail.

This post is rather puzzling, going from a pedestrian affair to a road rage confrontation. However it unfolded, it was not a CHL holder's finest moment. One of the first things stressed in class is de-escalation. knowing when and how to step away to live another day. I don't know if the young men learned a lesson, but I am praying that the OP did. We don't usually get a do-over, and because of the group we represent should be careful not to present 2A in a bad light.
Be careful and keep cool...

Why not? Irresponsible and immature actions like this by the OP and others could ultimately cost all of us our guns and licenses. Remember this: there are way more anti-gunners than there are pro-gunners...even in Texas.
