Keep it handy, and record the incidents as best and as safe as you can, documenting any witnesses that are right there with you to confirm your activities...Make sure the correct date time stamp is on the recording as well...
I had my wife bring me the video camera, however, they had already stopped by the time I had it in hand. Had I had video proof, it would have been shown to the police and hopefully more action would have been taken.

Picture-takin' sometimes not the best idea if doofi with guns can see ya. Last time I got shot at was while down on one knee to steady telephoto lense on 35mm dropping shutter on trespassers. (If you go lookin' for trouble, you CAN find it!)
