I am curious about (and will purchase soon to try) the new Surefire EP3 Sonic Defenders. They were named safety product of the year at the Shooting Industry awards, and I think anyone will acknowledge that Surefire has a quality brand reputation. Guns magazine also gave them a product of the year award.
Have been using these for three rotations now.. Any time Peltors or vehicle / Aircraft headsets are not on, I use Sonic Defenders. There are the only non electronic hearing protection I can wear A: All day without pain B: Hear radio traffic and normal conversation with in, yet still protect when the shooting starts.. And if I KNOW things are going to get loud.,. Controlled DET, door breach, you just reach up and plug the little plug in to stop excessive noise.
