Price on XDm 9mm compact

Sad truth is that you don't often find killer deals on NEW guns at gun shows. Margins are too thin. I'd say go to Academy now. Be prepared to do a LOT of paperwork, they're notorious for making you do a LOT more than is required.

Yea, I was pleasantly surprised to find it at the gun show for only 509...guess I lucked out...on a kind of disappointing note, went to cheaper than dirt today and they aren't even cheaper than Walmart. Bulk 9 was $10 more, and 380 self defense was $8 more.

That IS a very good price if it is the XD9m3.8. And Cheaper Than Dirt has been known to bend folks over sometimes on ammo. They exploited the "shortage" a few years ago with pricing that made some people refuse to do biz with them again. It is generally very hard to beat Wally World pricing on name brand target ammo. In local stores here, the challenge is finding a clerk who has a key to the glass ammo case!

Between my girlfriend and I, we put about 300 rounds through it this weekend, loving it so far! She wants to claim it for her own, lol! She wasn't that into guns until here recently, and I have to say she knows how to get on my good side. We were walking through Cheaper than Dirt today, and she saw all the mace and said, quote "why would you want to use that crap, just put a bullet in 'em!"
