Only two things I don't like about the Cannon safes. They only seem to be available with the electronic locks (which I don't want) and, other than their higher end models, only have locking bolts on one side. found this guy selling cannon safes in my price range. I've looked at them in academy and they seem to look nice and well built. Any thoughts on this brand?? I'll check out sams next time i go.
I'm still searching for a safe as well. There's a million choices out there. And each manufacturer claims theirs are the best.
But I doubt you're going to find a 'safe' for under $600. At that price you're really getting a lockable gun cabinet. It's better than leaving them laying on the bed. But most of them are fairly light gauge of sheet metal. They might protect from a 'smash and grab', but if they come with a big crowbar they can get into them.
