I also removed the sling.
I've never mastered the technique of using a sling to steady my aim.
And it's for home defense. I'm not going on patrol with it or anything. So the sling was mostly just in the way.

Very impressive!

I have been mulling about shotgun use for HD. I have a Winchester 1300 Defender with adjustable stock but no light yet.

Anyway, the issue of ammo came up. I now live in a marina enclave on San Diego Bay. The homes are on small lots and only 10 feet apart, lightly built for the most part as we have no weather to contend with. Overpenetration is a worry.

I ran across an article "Shotgun Home Defense Ammunition" available at Firearms Tactical Institute http://www.firearmstactical.com/briefs10.htm. which promotes the Federal No.1 Buckshot as the most desirable. I was led to that article by an article I found on AR15.com http://ammo.ar15.com/project/Self_Defen ... /index.htm.

I got some suggestions on another gun forum and found the Federal No. 1 Buck shell at GT Distributors in Austin, and now have a quantity on the way. The shells are relatively inexpensive at $2.99/5 pack, too.
